The Tesla Model S is the model that originally put Tesla on the map, and it's still the brand's flagship. It combines long range, a spacious and luxurious interior and — in the Plaid version — some of the quickest acceleration times you'll find in a production car.
Variants
The Model S typically comes in two main variants:
| Variant | In brief |
|---|---|
| Model S (Long Range, dual motor) | All-wheel drive focused on range and comfort. |
| Model S Plaid (tri-motor) | Three motors, extreme acceleration and a higher top speed. |
Performance and range
The Plaid version is built for performance: three motors, a 0-100 km/h time around 2 seconds and a very high top speed. At the same time, the Model S holds a WLTP range in the region of 600 km on the longest-range variants. The battery is around 100 kWh. Remember that WLTP is a standard test — real-world range depends on speed, temperature and driving style.

Performance, range and prices change regularly and depend on variant and market. See the exact specifications for your configuration on tesla.com.
Interior and technology
The cabin is spacious with room for five, a large boot plus frunk and an advanced screen setup. Like the rest of the lineup, the Model S receives over-the-air updates that continually add and improve features.
Who is the Model S for?
The Model S is for those who want Tesla's most luxurious and powerful sedan with long range — and are willing to pay for it. If you're after a more affordable Tesla, the Model 3 is an obvious alternative.
Referral benefit on the Model S
For the Model S, the referral benefit has historically been a discount or account credit rather than free Supercharging. See the current referral benefits, and use the code correctly before you order.
