| Preconditioning | The car warms the battery before fast charging for higher speed. |
Range and battery
| WLTP | Standardised test cycle for range; real-world range is often lower. |
| LFP | Lithium iron phosphate battery; used in several entry variants. |
| Regenerative braking | The motor slows the car and feeds energy back to the battery. |
| Phantom drain | Small battery loss while the car is parked. |
| Charging curve | How charging speed changes with the battery's state of charge. |
Software and features
| Autopilot | Tesla's driver assistance (e.g. adaptive cruise and steering assist). |
| FSD | Full Self-Driving — an extended assistance package; features and availability vary by market. |
| OTA | Over-the-air — updates downloaded wirelessly to the car. |
| Sentry Mode | A guard mode that uses the car's cameras while parked. |
| Dog Mode / Camp Mode | Keeps the cabin at a comfortable temperature while the car is parked. |
| Frunk | "Front trunk" — the storage at the front where an engine would otherwise be. |
