Charging

SuperchargerTesla's own network of fast DC chargers along roads and in cities.
Destination ChargingSlower AC chargers at e.g. hotels and restaurants.
Wall ConnectorTesla's home wallbox for fast charging at home.
Mobile ConnectorThe portable charger for a wall outlet.
Type 2European standard connector for AC charging.
CCS (Combo 2)Standard connector for DC fast charging in Europe.
kWhKilowatt-hour — the unit of energy (the battery's "tank size").
kWKilowatt — power, i.e. how fast you charge or consume.
PreconditioningThe car warms the battery before fast charging for higher speed.

Range and battery

WLTPStandardised test cycle for range; real-world range is often lower.
LFPLithium iron phosphate battery; used in several entry variants.
Regenerative brakingThe motor slows the car and feeds energy back to the battery.
Phantom drainSmall battery loss while the car is parked.
Charging curveHow charging speed changes with the battery's state of charge.

Software and features

AutopilotTesla's driver assistance (e.g. adaptive cruise and steering assist).
FSDFull Self-Driving — an extended assistance package; features and availability vary by market.
OTAOver-the-air — updates downloaded wirelessly to the car.
Sentry ModeA guard mode that uses the car's cameras while parked.
Dog Mode / Camp ModeKeeps the cabin at a comfortable temperature while the car is parked.
Frunk"Front trunk" — the storage at the front where an engine would otherwise be.
